Do not let the black metal inspired logo fool you; Birdman Cult is anything but a raw project discussing burning down a church utilizing a DAW in their bedroom. No, this post-punk and garage rock inspired project is, well, exactly that. A quintet from Bristol who've just released their brand-new single 'Housecat' which seeks to tackle the current comforts of the modern world. For example, how streaming is taking over movie theaters and how apps are replacing real-world dating. Though there are arguments for both (streaming allows you to stay away from noisy movie-goers who talk during films and dating apps can be somewhat safer than meeting someone randomly in public). You can hear their message by streaming the song below.

Vocalist for the project, Joe, stated this about the single: We’re saying stop fearing the outside world, come out of yourself and get a little dirty its fine! The song speaks to all the domesticated alley cats out there! It’s a cautionary tale to the try-hard and designer-dirty posers and an appeal to the pampered felines that should maybe come out from their comfortable scratch pads and roll around in the streets with some friendly tomcats.

'Housecat' is released via AnalogueTrash and serves as a teaser to their forthcoming, full-length debut album due out later this year. Birdman Cult has also announced that they will be releasing another single on August 18th at The Golden Lion in their hometown of Bristol during a free entry headline show.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
