Scandinavian Rapture - Forever In My Heart

There are quite a few things wrong with Scandinavian Rapture’s single ‘Forever In My Heart’ and I can easily begin with the vocals. They are sung in a manner that’s lethargic and unemotional; a drivel of words somewhat slurred with shoddy effects placed on them. And if the point is to sound uninterested in your own music then he’s doing a great job.
The music is another piece that is in need of a major revision. It’s an experimental electronic piece that maintains a beat, but it’s not entirely filling; it’s demo quality at the best of times. Perhaps the modern post-punk influence on the project is to blame; after all, cheap production is kinda the thing for the genre at the time. The sound is equally as baffling. It sounds as if layer after layer of music was placed on top of one another without much thought or care, leading to a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are in the wrong places.
This is a four-and-a-half minute song that is not worth listening to; a dragging and nagging sensation that I can’t wait to be over. Four out of ten.

info@brutalresonance.comI've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
