"The History of Industrial Music: The Chicago Way" is a documentary currently in production that needs your help to finish its funding. The documentary follows the birth, rise, fall, and moderate rebirth of American Industrial music from the mid-to-late 1980s and onward. Martin Atkins of Pigface asked filmmaker Chris Harris to join the band on their recent tour to showcase the trailer for the documentary to the crowds. "The History of Industrial Music" will feature interviews and discussions with the likes of Al Jourgensen (Ministry/RevCo), Joe Shanahan (Metro/Smart Bar), Jim Marcus (producer/Die Warzau), En Esch (KMFDM), Marston Daley (aka Buzz McCoy of Thrill Kill Kult), Jason Novak (Acumen/Cold Waves Festival), Reid Hyams (Chicago Trax) and Martin Atkins (Pigface/Killing Joke), just to name a few.

The project is currently over 60% funded. The funding will afford the crew to license music as without the soundtrack the documentary would be incomplete. You can donate to the campaign HERE and you can follow it on Facebook. The documentary crew has also released a bonus clip of Al Jourgensen talking about his days after releasing "With Sympathy".

Chicago industrial music is on the rise right now—the remembrance of a time when things changed for good. Chris Harris has captured that feeling and added to the soup of documentation that informs and defines this special time. Industrial music was the reason I moved to Chicago in 1989 so this has special resonance for me. I'm so happy to see this all come to fruition.

When Martin mentioned, 'Hey, what if you came out and played the trailer every night before Pigface goes on,’ I took a moment and thought that was brilliant. It was great to see the rousing response the screenings had as well as to talk to people across the country and hear how excited they are about the film.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
