Humanity Needs An Upgrade Noise, Industrial W.A.S.T.E. This album is only available as a free download you can get when you buy a W.A.S.T.E.shirt on the current tour. Which is a bit of a pity when you can't attend, because this album is really good. This one could hold up pretty good in their entire catalogue. The album opens with the weird "City Boys" which sounds like they sampled Jandek playing guitar before getting into some breakbeat frenzy. Very nicely done. Up next is "DMT zone" which will burn dancefloors everywhere, as is the Mono-Amine remix of "Assassins" and "No one is going to help you". The album seems to be made of leftover tracks from previous releases, and it is quite telling for the talent of these boys that their leftover tracks lead to such a kick ass album. What else do they have in those vaults of them in Los Angeles? W.A.S.T.E. throws in a lot of original music and samples, and cuts out a place of there own in current Rhythmic noise. I really like all the different sounds and atmospheres they use in their songs. From industrial hardcore to dark ambient and from Aphex Twin like IDM to raw power noise not unlike old Haus Arafna or Genocide organ. With this limited edition album W.A.S.T.E. once again shows us to be on top of the current American rhythmic noise movement. If the tour still is on, get there, see them live (did i mention they are very good live?), get the shirt and get this release. For the rest of us it is hoped that Vendetta Music decides to get this one available outside the tour, because a release like this should be heard by as many people as possible! 550
