Rot EBM [:SITD:] 'Rot' is the latest constellation from the German electro band [:SITD:]. What mainly differs this album from the previously released ones are the vocals. They have become much clearer and all the screams and distortion are practically gone. I feel a bit divided in this change because I think it's both a good and a bad thing, but generally I do love very distorted vocals since it gives that extra aggressiveness. I actually got a bit disappointed when I listened to 'Rot', I guess was expecting much more since it's been over two years since the last album was released. The style of the music has been toned down and it sounds more inspired by the old-school EBM rather than harsh EBM or aggrotech like on the previous albums. The clever melodies and the specific sound that [:SITD:] had seem to have disappeared and it sounds a bit more mainstream to me. The production is good, the vocals sound decent and overall the tracks are pretty solid as well as sound and quality vise, but it lacks that extra touch. The best tracks of this album are 'Rot', 'Frontal' and 'Catharsis'. 350
