Resist Concept - Defekt

Alright, well, Resist Concept is an American dark electro project that so far has one and only album, which is 'Defekt'. Consequently, this is also the album that I'm about to talk about, possibly rant about, and also review.
So, let me begin by saying that there really isn't anything extraordinarily remarkable about this album. Don't get me wrong, it definitely is a good start for a first time album release, as it does showcase the talent behind the project, but I just feel as if they didn't really push their full potential.
Some of the songs fall into the dark electro death trap that's been eating away the scene, with distorted vocals, almost whisper like; if you listen to the genre, you should know what I'm talking about.
I mean, I certainly appreciate some of the efforts that go into the album. Such as the song "Drawn To You". It's different, however, the vocals just aren't great. I feel as if the enhancements on the vocals were just used in order to cover up an already bad voice. And I hate putting down other's singing talents, but this is something that I really just could not handle.
Now, I will say that Resist Concept is a project that can become better. I just didn't see anything wonderful or deserving of praise in this album. It's mediocre at best, and that's all I can really say about that. Apr 08 2013

info@brutalresonance.comI've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
