MINIVIEW: Haunted Keys Synthwave, Darksynth Nightcrawler It was not too long ago that I was posting about Nightcrawler's video for "Haunted Keys". The B-rated ride through a short music video about a haunted synthesizer and the hell it wrought out was absolutely hysterical and well done. However, George Gold's, the founder and brain behind Nightcrawler, music was the real masterpiece behind it all. 'Haunted Keys', the title track of this EP is a love letter to all things horror. Whether or not you're a horror fanatic or just a casual film goer, you will undoubtedly find that the song is rightly spooky and gives you a sense of paranoia. Something, somewhere is wrong. You know it, but you don't know what it is. That's the feeling that 'Haunted Keys' gives off. There's even a second song titled 'House of Mirrors' featuring fellow synthwave and Giallo lover Buio Mondo. More of a electronic drum rhythm forms in this song with echoing keys, all the while keeping the spooky feel turned all the way up. There is a third track on the album, but it is merely the video version of 'Haunted Keys'. So, if you'd like the original track to have a bit more of a cinematic feel to it, than I'd suggest you take a look at this song. "Haunted Keys" once more showcases Nightcrawler's absolute adoration for all things horrific in fashionable form, allocating his musical talent to lovely heights once more.  450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
