AMNESIACS/BROTHERHOOD Darkwave, Synthpop N∆EON TE∆RDROPS N∆EON TE∆RDROPS is a darkwave and synthpop combination whose fictional history is one of that rotating around parallel dimensions, the 80s (of course), and tapes. While I shan't get into any of that in detail (you can check out the "multidimensional autobiography" HERE), what I will be discussing is the project's debut double "AMNESIACS/BROTHERHOOD". Scooped up via record label Love OD Communications, N∆EON TE∆RDROPS has released this double in both limited edition vinyl and digital formats. While neither of the songs will rewrite electronic history, they are well done dark dance songs that are worth your attention. AMNESIACS/BROTHERHOOD by N∆EON TE∆RDROPS'AMNESIACS' is a slow paced play on darkwave aesthetics while utilizing clean vocals often seen within synthpop's house. The bass drops are great and, though the song doesn't do a whole lot in terms of variation, it only lasts three-minutes and fourteen seconds. Which means that it never overstays its welcome. The second track utilizes raw drum pads and a depressing atmosphere. The effect is one of that of a saddened tone; perhaps it reflects a broken friendship or relationship as the lyrics read, "I mourn the choices that I made / To chase another silver moon". In any event, like the previous song, it doesn't take too many risks but it does have a short length of three-minutes and nine-seconds. It's a quick, in-and-out routine. N∆EON TE∆RDROPS delivers in their debut. What they bring is a neat little darkwave and synthpop combo wrapped in depressing and cold, yet warming synthesizers. While the songs aren't necessarily ambitious in their presentation, they stick to a tried-and-true formula while never lasting longer than they need to. For this, I give "AMNESIACS/BROTHERHOOD" a good seven out of ten! This review was commissioned through our Ko-fi page. 450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
