Ionic Vision - In Between
Ionic Vision continues their rage against the acoustics with their E.P 'In Between'. As you can understand from the name, this is a release between the latest album 'Neumaschinen' and the upcoming one which yet don't have a name or an official release date.
The E.P contains six tracks which four of them are varies of "My Cell" from the last album. First out is "My Cell (Room 1)" which simply is the original one. Continue does a remix on "Drive" which also is from the last album, here in Thomas P. Heckmann's clothes. "Drive" is my absolute favourite on that album and this remix unfortunately makes a really good song to a kind of bitter melody.
Even the Swedish Pouppée Fabrikk have managed to get their remix of "My Cell", but in this case it's ended with the signification "(Room 2)". Fortunately Pouppée Fabrikk keeps it good even though I still prefer the original.
You also find (as I mentioned earlier) two more remixes of "My Cell" ("Re-Injection" and "Largest Room") were one is made by Terence Firmer, a more or less instrumental vary and it have the capability to be a real dance floor hit and one remix from the band themselves. You also find the track "Surrender" which hasn't been released before, a real tasty one which shows that Ionic Vision still keeps the rage alive.
The summarization then? I think all remixes on this one have a kind of all daily standard with its positive sides and the negative sides. Therefore I think Ionic Vision is at their best when they do their own material by themselves. The B-side "Surrender" is a good injection and it shows what we can expect further on.
