Dark electronic duo Ex-Hyena have released the music video for their single ‘Capture the Stills’. The video showcases the protagonist’s (played by Caroline Wright) relationship with her friend or potential lover (played by Rachel Barringer). Our protagonist becomes very jealous when her friend / love starts seeing another person, played by Bo Barringer. The protagonist uses video surveillance to spy on them and to also take action against them. However, within the music video the protagonist is seen writing lyrics to a song. Is what we’re seeing really happening? Is this horror story for real? Or is it just meant to be a dream state? It’s all up to you to decide. You can stream the video directly below and you can download the single HERE

ʻCapture the Stills is dark and menacing. Bo wrote the lyrics to this one... It certainly fits the vibe, and themes that Ex-Hyena often covers. To me, it's like falling into a David Lynch movie void, and witnessing two characters in a volitile relationship, or something like that. -Reuben Bettsak

I wrote the words to this one at a time when I was going through a bit of a dark period. I wasnʼt really trying to reflect that necessarily but itʼs kind of hard to deny a line like ʻA soul created to be crushedʼ. But the song is also about how difficult it is to slow down time and take in the smaller moments because life threatens to speed by you at a million miles an hour. You canʼt stop the video as itʼs rolling, but maybe you can screenshot it as it passes you by. -Bo Barringer

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
