Goth / Post-Punk project Black Angel releases extended version of "The Widow"
Goth / Post-Punk project Black Angel has released a new, extended version of their album "The Widow". I could explain why the extended version came about, but instead I'll use a quote from the founder of the project Matt Vowles:
The first version was awesome but something wasn't quite right. It was mastered for the "headphone and streaming" generation and it just didn't have the bollocks it needed for a Goth/Post-punk album - not the ones i grew up listening to, I should have gone with my gut, I shouldn't have catered to this popular way of mastering songs, should have stuck to my guns, so now I'm doing it again. And I couldn't just re-release it so we thought lets just make it longer and more awesome so fans have a reason to want it.
The new, extended version contains all the original songs minus 'Fire', as well as four club remixes and three live tracks. In addition to releasing a new version of "The Widow", the band has re-cut and color graded their original music video of 'Poison' to fit the new theme and remix. The album is currently exclusive to Bandcamp with the CD coming on March 16th. The band has also announced that they are currently in the studio recording their follow up album "Kiss of Death".
