Downtempo duo Voidant Releases Debut album
Transatlantic downtempo electronic duo, consisting of instrumentalist David "Wolfie" Wolfenden and vocalist Caroline Blind, has released their self-titled, debut album "Voidant". The digital album has been released on Bandcamp and can be streamed / purchased directly below:
Wolfenden is known for his work as the guitarist in post-punk band Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, while Caroline Blind is known for both her solo output as well as her run in the gothic rock band Sunshine Blind. However, the two have thrown most of that out the window for Voidant; instead, the album is primarily electronic diving into downtempo, trip-hop, and ambient-ethereal music. Wolfenden spoke on the album, contributing it to his experimentation with electronics music in the early 90s after touring with the Lorries and The Mission. He stated, "I just really wanted to learn about how to create music by yourself with a sampler and a computer because it meant not relying on people. And it wasn't about money, it was purely for fun."
The album contains the lead single 'La Loba' as well as cover versions of Love's '7 and 7 Is', and Buffy Sainte-Marie's 'Universal Soldier'.
