Documentary Film "Bight of the Twin" Features Genesis P-Orridge on Spiritual Quest
Genesis P-Orridge, the cultural engineer that's been heavily criticized by British politicians and media, but crazily praised for their involvement in the creation of industrial music and as one of the founding members of Throbbing Gristle, is set to be filming their travel to Ouidah, Benin, West Africa in search of the origin of Vodun, one of the world's oldest religions.
A practice in Vodun, Genesis will be initiated into the "Twin Fetish", setting in stone Genesis' bond with their late partner Lady Jaye. Sacred in Benin, Twins are revered. When one twin passes, the other must remember the other by carrying a carved replica of their twin. The goal of this documentary is to knock over the notion that Vodun is a dark and ominous cult, but rather an ancient religion that showcases love and unification.
The record for the film will be done by DJMREX (Douglas J McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb, and Cyrusrex) utilizing modular synths, effects, and in-the-field recording featuring Genesis.
Currently, their is an Indiegogo for the production, which offers perks including signed items from Genesis, tickets and seating with the crew to the premiers, and more.

info@brutalresonance.comI've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
