One of the UK’s finest alternative electronic labels, analoguetrash, has been cranking out numerous releases for the past year and has been on a non-stop signing spree. But who can blame them? With the amount of talent within their immediate area and with such expertise in juggling so many things at once, analoguetrash simply seems to be the go-to place for England’s finest. With 2023 in hindsight and 2024 at large, it’s the time of the year where many labels put together a nice fat sampling of what they have on offer; a dazzling display of musical theatrics to get your mouth watery for the next savory bite of aural pleasures. So they’ve released their seventh iteration of the analoguetrash label sampler; a wholesome family get together featuring twenty-eight songs and even more artists.

Analoguetrash is celebrating both past and present as it features original signings such as Vieon, DEF NEON, Neonsol, Vain Machine and Factory Acts, while celebrating recent collaborations with Bjørn Felle, This Bliss, Friends of Our Youth and The Royal Ritual. All the while skirting through a ton of genres such as post-punk, electronica, ambient, synthpop, alt pop, indie rock, industrial, dreampop, and more.

Record label founder Adrian Brian Thompson had a mouthful to say about the sampler, but we chose the best words we could find to truly represent what the samples means to him. He stated, “I’m really proud of how we’ve assembled so many new tracks, remixes, live takes, and hidden gems for this edition of the sampler. Like the label as a whole, it’s packed with music with heart and soul, from a diverse range of artists who are fiercely individual, independent and supremely talented. I hope folks take the time to listen to the whole thing and discover something they love.”

The compilation is also rife with new material from PreCog, Zeropolis, Circuit3, Vain Machine, DeathBoy, Birdman Cult, VATSWAV, Flange Circus, and The Cowls; remixed tracks from The Frixion, Sandi Glowe, Kat Bryan, Le Fomo, and Murderers; as well as introductions to some of the label’s more recently signed artists. All in all, it seems as if 2024 might be the most productive year for analoguetrash yet.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
