ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: 'Spring of '86' by Robert Corbett. 
I've been doing this What's In Our Inbox? series for a couple of months now, and on each release I always feel as if there's one artist that outdoes the rest. So, from now on I will be reserving the top spot for the musician I think stood out from the rest. This time I have to give accolades to Robert Corbett, a producer who I just discovered the other day when I received an e-mail. While synthpop is a genre that strives to be either influenced by or to emulate the eighties sound, a lot of projects fall just a bit short from the greats. Corbett's single 'Spring of '86' is absolutely brilliant; it sounds like it should have been released in the eighties during the glory days of synthpop music. It's an absolute banger that doesn't outstay it's welcome and I've had it on repeat since I've first listened to it. Check it out:

Record labels Untitled Burial and Re:Mission Entertainment have united to bring forth a massive album containing thirty-two tracks of witch-house act ΔXIUS LIИK's works. The album was originally available in a double-CD format containing all the songs, but has since sold out. Inertia - "New Format" 
Inertia has released their brand new EP "New Format" on Bandcamp. The EP contains the single 'New Format' which features violins by SIEBEN. RE:OP - "Waves of Internal Resistance"
Dark techno act RE:OP has announced that their next EP "Waves of Internal Resistance" will be released on February 17th, 2021. The seven track album will be put out via Diffuse Reality Records and will be released in both digital and limited edition CD formats (only seven remain at the time of this writing). Grøte - "Prognosis"
Drone and ambient collective Grøte has released a two track EP titled "Prognosis". The name of the project comes from the Croatian word "grota" which means "large stone". You can stream / purchase the EP below:

Post-punk / industrial act PA / ST has released a brand new, five track EP titled "Inmeo". The EP was mastered by ACTORS' frontman Jason Corbett at Jacknife Sound. Nyctalllz - "Persian Trip"
Morego Dimmer, known for his work in the dark ambient project as Xerxes the Dark and in the IDM field as MOREGO, has released a new EP under the name Nyctalllz. This time Dimmer is focusing on power noise, rhythmic noise, and EBM. Dimmer has described the project as being about, "A guy in modern Persia [who] has been intoxicated by an odd & unknown essence. Grosso Gadgetto, Pink Room, & Oddateee - "WOKE"
Record labels Solium and Atypeek Music have collaborated with one another to release, well, a collaboration between the three industrial hip-hop artists listed above. The sounds found within have been described by Solium as a sound "that will remind you of 2000-eera experimental hip-hop, a la Techno Animal, Def Jux and such." Warm Gadget - 'New Industry'

Supra-Argo - "This Island..."
In the mid-1990s an obscure post-punk project titled Supra-Argo existed. The duo Collin J. Rae (ex-Ultra Vivid Scene) and Karen Sandvoss (future Clevergirl, Beautiful Engines member) managed to release one album and an EP before splitting. Unfortunately, the EP was never released. But thanks to the miracle that is Bandcamp and record label popnihi, both the albu and the EP are now available in one mix titled "This Island...". Sword Collector - "Sword Collector"
Darkwave trio Sword Collector have released their self-titled, debut EP on Bandcamp. The album is available in digital and limited edition cassette formats. Frontman of the project, Mychael, talked about the song and stated, "As melancholy as I may appear, I am carelessly smiling deep inside. The more I dwell on who or what moment in time this song is about, I like to believe that sadness is an artform and as cliché as it may sound, it meant everything to me." Industrial, noise, and dark ambient project Uncle Grasha's Flying Circus has released a video for their song 'hüzün horns'. The single teases the projects forthcoming album "Ost" which is due out in Spring of 2021. The vinyl edition will be released by Aesthetic Death (UK), Urbsounds (Slovakia), Grom&Lord records (Switzerland), Véva records (Czechia) and Debila records (Slovenia). Dark ambient / drone producer mebitek has released a new album titled "Ostalgie". The word ostalgie is a portmanteau of the German words ost (east) and Nostalgie (nostalgia), and reflects aspects of life in DDR. Dissonance - 'Damage 1st Assault (Featuring Melodywhore)'
Dissonance has released a brand new EP and a visualizer for the title track 'Damage 1st Assault'. Cat Hall, founder of Dissonance, talked about the single and working with Melodywhore and stated, "I Met MELODYWHORE when I was featured on his radio show RADIO DARK TUNNEL SITUATION 47 (co-hosted by the incredible SAPPHIRA VEE). I mentioned I had been pining to work on some more aggressive tracks and this was the result.  We liked the original- "Damage 1st Assault" so much that we did a second version.  Damage 2nd Assault will be released by MELODYWHORE a few weeks after the DISSONANCE release." Watch Out For Snakes - 'Fight Those Invisible Ninjas'
8-bit chipwave project Watch Out For Snakes has released a single / video for their song 'Fight Those Invisible Ninjas'. Watch Out For Snakes is from Atlanta, GA and pays homage to old video games and 80s films without taking things too seriously. His last appearance was in November of 2019, so 'Fight Those Invisible Ninjas' marks the return of the project. You can stream the video below and you can purchase the single on Bandcamp.


Kiberspassk - 'Liho'
Industrial act Kiberspassk has released a music video for their latest single 'Liho'. The project takes industrial music and infuses it with Russian folklore. The single focuses on a mythical creature of Slavic mythology called Liho One-eyed, the embodiment of evil. This creature, when attacking a person, throws them into despondency and feeds on negative emotions. In some legends, Liho One-eyed takes all joyful memories and cheerful feelings from a person.
