EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Summore explores a near-death experience in ‘Dust’
A lot of people tend to joke about near-death experiences. While some people who have been in these situations are able to laugh it off with a smile and a harder-than-before attitude, others are scarred by the incident, unable to return to their normal life without reliving the incident over and over and over again. This is the very theme of Summore’s latest single ‘Dust’.
‘Dust’ dives into the aftermath of a near-fatal car accident which caused severe mental and physical trauma, and the outward desire to look and seem as if nothing had ever happened. One of the lines of the song symbolizes the event perfectly. They sing, ‘Instead of a diamond, I turn to dust.’ Summore further went on to say that the song is “meant to capture the transient nature of life itself, reminding us of the fleeting and impermanent nature of existence and transform this delicate metaphor into a symbol of unwavering resilience.” You can stream the video below.
‘Dust’ is the second single off of Summore’s forthcoming album “New Pain”, which is due out on August 27th, 2023. The album will be released in both digital and limited-edition vinyl formats. You can pre-order the album HERE.
I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
