Chelsey and the Noise was arguably one of my favorite finds of 2016. To say that they are unique is an understatement as Chelsey Hice's melodic vocals swirl in perfect pattern with Brent "the Noise" Watters' technological mastery. Sweeping up an individual sound that is part industrial, part trip-hop, part pop, and sometimes everywhere in between, I found myself looping 'Graveyard' off of their debut EP 'Losing Landscapes' five or so times in a row until it was stuck in my head for the rest of the week. Multiple plays have occurred of the EP in its entirety ever since and I still find myself having goosebumps whenever the songs come on in shuffle.

Since then it has been nearly two years since we have heard from Chelsey and the Noise. But the time is nigh for the band to come back and introduce us to their new music. We at Brutal Resonance are proud to premiere the first look at Chelsey and the Noise's upcoming album "Blank Frames". Hunker down and check out the teaser trailer/music video hybrid for the new album directly below:

Blank Frames is an album as much about the pain of loss as it is about the beauty in starting over. We used our love of dissonance and distortion to capture feelings of strength and chaos while also incorporating more atmospheric, acoustic elements to add moments of vulnerability and levity.  With this set of songs we wanted to explore a fuller, more upfront sound and test the boundaries of what we can do creatively. -Chelsey and the Noise

Chelsey and the Noise's "Blank Frames" will be released on August 31st, 2018. In the meantime, you can check out their 2016 EP "Losing Landscapes" HERE.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
