Calvin Clone is a recent name to the electronic underground whose debut single 'Machines' released in August of 2019. Drawing inspiration from new wave, industrial, rock, pop, and cyberpunk, the single sought to answer one question: In a future where mankind's creations have them outgunned and out-smarted, can humanity find a way to fight back and survive? A similar question asked throughout many other science-fiction films, shows, and books, it is nonetheless a fun electronic romp of near-future possibilities. The band was able to get a start with live performances but was soon restricted due to Melbourne, Australia's Covid-19 lockdown. Nonetheless, through the power of the internet the band has managed to continue on.

Their newest single 'Drive' is the second of a planned trilogy which will be completed by the end of 2020. The cover art gives insight to a song belonging to a film that never released with the band stating that it's about "a giant time-travelling steam locomotive, unable and unwilling to slow down." I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
