Throughout the years Brutal Resonance has served as a hub for various dark electronic genres, homing in on the likes of the experimental and danceable nature of industrial music, the ominous and bleak landscapes of dark ambient and drone systems, to the eighties themed melodies found within synthwave and dark synth music, down to the dramatic and often delightfully sad outputs of post-punk and darkwave music. All of our staff throughout the years have managed to find new favorites through the music musicians from around the world have sent in. We owe it to you guys, gals, and ghouls for keeping our humble little website interesting and wondrous. We also owe it to the musicians for keeping our heads from spinning at time when the world seems like it’s crashing.

This is why, for the better part of three years, I have been planning a course of action to turn Brutal Resonance into a part-time record label. There are so many great bands and musicians I have discovered that I would love to work with in the future. Multiple times in my career writing for Brutal have I found myself wondering, “Why aren’t they signed?” or, better yet, “I would love to have a physical copy of their album in my hand.” And what better way to make sure that would happen then by crafting our own label and releasing music into the world.

It is with this in mind that I am proud to announce the launch of Brutal Resonance Records as well as our debut release. Many of you have probably heard of the mighty industrial mechanics of Zwaremachine in the past; we have covered Mach Fox’s EBM-flavored and old-school influenced cold electronics for the past couple of years. With that said, we will be releasing Zwaremachine’s forthcoming EP “Ripping at the Fabric” on May 20th, 2020 in both digital and limited-edition cassette format!

Stating that, there is no better way to announce a new EP than by premiering the title track on our humble little website. Enjoy the song directly below:

“Ripping at the Fabric” was written by Mach Fox and Darren Corri. It was produced entirely by Mach Fox with mastering done by Nic Heidt; the artwork was completed by Mark Gerrard.

Zwaremachine’s “Ripping at the Fabric” will be available on May 20th, 2020 via Brutal Resonance Records Bandcamp page. You can pre-order the EP HERE.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
