Atrium Carceri/Sabled Sun's Five Favorite Horror Films
Cryo Chamber owner and musician Simon Heath (Atrium Carceri/Sabled Sun) takes the time out of his busy schedule to list off five of his favorite horror films. A Dario Argento classic is listed alongside more modern zombie tales.
"The Cabin in the Woods" by Drew Goddard
"The ending should have been more lovecraftian, but still a fun romp making us reflect and rethink all previous horror movies we've seen and even serves to explain why some of the bad ones still makes sense within the universe. The Soundtrack however is nothing special."
"Suspiria" by Dario Argento
"Witches, great cinematography for it's time and a soundtrack by The Goblins!"
"Dawn of the Dead" by George A. Romero
"I saw this as a kid and had nightmares about zombie hands coming out of the walls for years upon years. Great premise and loads better than Romeros previous efforts. This movie started the zombie trend more than any other movie of it's time because let's be honest, how many zombie movies takes place in a mineshaft like Day of the Dead, no it's all about scavenging for supplies in the ruins of mankind and the mall serves the perfect backdrop for the death of the old economy."
"Ravenous" by Antonia Bird
"Unique setting, great dialogue, great script, great acting and one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Seriously check out the soundtrack for this one."
"28 Days Later" by Danny Boyle
"As far as Zombie movies go, this one is the king of the hill. The Cinematography, Music, Drama, Acting, Writing is just fantastic. A masterpiece with one hell of a "soundtrack.
