A kind of bushy and rough gentlemen came up to me and Jenny where we stood in front of the Vintergatan during the Arvikafestival and offered us to buy a demo from the band Container 90. The gentlemen described the band as an early Pouppee Fabrikk and Cat Rapes Dog. Since the album really looked like a classic punk album I thought that the guy was fooling us, but since Jenny already had the wallet in her hand, I let it go. The entire festival and the vacation after I was pretty convinced that it will be punk that we would hear when we came home and listened to the demo, and sure, it was punk, but in an electronic way.

The demo single Special Brew contains two tracks, "Precious Boots" and "Boozers & Loozers". The whole concept of song, text and music remind you very strongly of the type of music that you were traumatized by from my red skin neighbour during my upper secondary school days, but this time totally electronic even though the attitude is still the same.

Is this tribute to boots and six packs of beer something to look deeper in to? It’s clearly an interesting production, even though it’s not that convincing at this point.

This demo review was written 2005 and initially published on Neurozine.com
