Cold and Strong EBM Mekanik Disorder 'Cold and Strong' is the debut album of Spanish Old-School EBM band Mekanik Disorder. The first thing that strikes me from this album is that for being a Spanish band, it's a lot of songs in German. The other and much more important thing is how heavily they borrow from masters of the genre and then try to create something they can call their own of it, how does it work out? Well, alright, but not great. The influences are pretty easy to catch. The fifth track "Ich Kontrolliere" is D.A.F. all the way just like the tenth track "Dirty State" is Nitzer Ebb all they way down to the core. Together with the opening track "Stigmatized", "Dirty State" are my favorites from this album. The rest of it seems a bit slow, heavy influenced by everything and nothing and just don't get me that excited. What it manages to do is making me want to hear the bands that really master this, rather than this mix of everything. It is simply no song on this album strong enough for the album to make a lasting memory. For me, this album is more cold than strong. 250
