La Parade Monstrueuse EBM, Electro In Strict Confidence The change that In Strict Confidence started somewhere around 'Mistrust The Angels' have now taken a huge step and the industrial electro act I grew to know have changed into a more electro rock approach. Still, the sounds you know are still there and Dennis, Jörg and Stefan's ability to write great melodies have not been changed or is lacking. The subtle guitars used before have been changed to highlight them instead, most recognized in "Silver Bullets" and "Set Me Free". At first this felt weird and misplaced, and I don't know if that have changed for me, what I do know is that the melodies and refrains are amazing and therefore you are able to forgive a lot of things. For an example, the part just before the refrain in "Snow White", around one minute into the song is terrible, it's an absolute nightmare, but just after it, the refrain starts and it is suddenly great. That is what this album is to me, a ride of ups and downs, a constant "I don't like that, ooh, I love this", changing back and forth. There are a lot of goodies to find, "One Drop" (probably the most old school In Strict Confidence track on the album), the ballad "Ewige Nacht", earlier mentioned "Snow White", "I Surrender" and "Schwarzes Licht". If it was not for all the ups and downs in each song, this would have been great, now it's simply good. 450
