Dual Density - Soul Ecstasy
Dual Density is a new trio from the southern parts of Sweden making their debut album on Conzoom Records.
First obvious question: Do we really need another Alice In Videoland? There is more than one similarity here. The "try to be so cool attitude" in the vocals and those similar synthpop-bleep-melody-hooks. Dual Density is a debut act so I think they will probably have time to grow into an own suite as time goes along. But unfortunately it feels like they are falling into the giant cliché trap one to many times on this album.
It's still executed with some skill even though I think they should have worked more with the tracks. It's not bad.... but I just get that dull feeling that Alice In Videoland and Thermostatic already has made this album some years ago and they executed it better already then. Jun 16 2010
