2762 Dark Ambient, Rhythmic Noise Cretin Dilettante Well, Cretin Dilettante is a noise/power electronics solo project based out of the good ol'state of Texas. And, what we have here is an okay noise album that definitely fits the genre very well, however, the loud noises that berate your eardrums throughout the entirety of the songs do get tiresome as there's not much variation and not much to get excited over. Sure, this may bring back memories to the starts of industrial with the whole noise aspect being played with, but in a very concentrated and limited genre where the fanbase is absolutely dedicated, you really need to make yourself stand out. However, honestly, the only real way I can describe this album is by calling it noise, no more or less. Thing is, whereas if I have praise for an album, I can easily point out the great things within it. And when I have negative feedback for an album, I am able to throw as many fucks as possible at it while cursing that I've ever listened to it, But, this album fits nice and snuggly in between both praise and scorn. I can't say it's miserable, but nor can I say it's absolutely great. But, without repeating myself too many times, I shall end this review and move on to other musical endeavors. 350

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
