Control - Deadly Sins

Dear boys and girls. Today's lesson is on the 7 Deadly Sins, and I know that you starve for it. This kind of Christian based theory is wide spread all over the world for centuries. So many words were written, so many songs were sung and so much art was created around this issue. You can find the reflections of it in so many aspects of your life, and the entire surrounding world, that it can scare the shit out of anyone.

But what is the horror for well-behaving girls from religious seminary, for us can be the biggest pleasure. Just imagine yourself these words: Sloth, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Lust, Greed and Envy. Don?t they sound fascinating? If not to you, but to somebody else they did sound attractive enough in order to devote them his time and imagination. And that person is Thomas Garrison, the man behind the well-known power electronics project under the name Control.

"All sins are attempts to fill voids" (Simone Weil) and this good Control fellow definitely tried to fill the voids with his vision of the 7 Deadly Sins. So, the lesson on Christian based mystery begins with Sloth, which is described by waving from here to there with the sound of rejection of any activity, laziness that creeps into the deepest corners of the soul. The Sloth easily spills into Pride, that blasts the brain with its power and screaming heavily distorted vocals, transformed by the light hand of Thomas into the claustrophobic Wrath, filled with the same power that makes your brain melt instantly. The thick Gluttony doesn't leave any space for reject its impulse, while on seemingly easy started "Lust" , the screaming reaches its highest point of apogee . The greedy soul will have its massive loops description on "Greed". But if you think that "Envy" is hidden behind more dark ambient sound, you will find yourself trapped inside the cage full of super blasting emotions, driven through the uncompromising swamp of sonic soundscapes.

Everything on this records screams power electronics. If you search for some new ways to explore this genre, you will not find them here. Thomas tries to dress the "sin conceptuality" into the clothes of his vision that states itself as solid and traditional towards the art expression.
