Witch house project Monomorte's "Ad Extremvm" has been a mainstay on my playlist since I first reviewed in back in 2013; while my writing was not in the least bit matured in comparison to the modern day I fell in love with the EP. I was drawn in by the hypnotic dragging beats and ethereal like substance Monomorte was able to deliver. In my initial review for the EP I gave it an eight out of ten; alas, "Ad Extremvm" has grown on me. I do believe that if I were to have discovered this work today rather than in the past, I would be singing even higher praises for it than ever before. This is an EP that I go back to when discussing or introducing folks to the witch house scene and most walk away perhaps not entirely convinced of the movement but certainly appreciative of Monomorte's efforts.

This is also why I am more than happy to announce that Monomorte has given the good ol'EP a new face with a 2020 remaster. While just having an entirely better sound, the only other difference from the original release is that the introductory track 'Mortvos' has been seemlessly blending in with the first track 'Caedo'. Other than that, the EP itself remains entirely intact with better sound quality.

As with most of Monomorte's other releases, the digital EP is available on Bandcamp for both streaming and purchase. It is under the 'name your price' moniker so throw in a buck and enjoy this fantastic EP.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
