About Brutal Resonance

About the site
All material on this site is copyrighted to Brutal Resonance. Artist photos have been taken from the artist's homepage or MySpace in promotional use. If you want to use our material, make sure that you refer to our site with ethically and with sense. The code and css was done by Patrik Lindstrom and the design was made by Alexander Frobel.

About Brutal Resonance
In less than 6 months, Brutal Resonance has evolved from a Swedish only e-zine, to an established International zine of the highest standard. With professional and experienced staff from England, the USA, and Australia, we offer you knowledge on the widest of genres.

Due to our increased workload, the site was re-coded from the foundation up, in February 2011.
Since the changes took place, we have seen our monthly visitor count increase by nearly Five times. To answer a commonly asked question, we are truly independent with no special agreements. This means that we will feature any label or artist that falls within our spectrum. Regardless of personal bias, all releases that are featured will be given the scrutiny we believe they deserve. This means that we are not afraid to give something a low score if we dislike it. At risk of controversy, we do firmly believe that we should give an honest opinion. If our staff do not like an album, then we simply will not tell the audience to buy it. However, we do also promise a fair and accurate review. This means that (apart from in rare cases), even the lowest scoring albums will be balanced out, so that the pros and cons are both documented.

Styles that we cover are:
Harsh EBM/Aggrotech, Electro-Industrial, Industrial, Futurepop, Synthpop, Darkwave, New-Wave, Neofolk/Neo-classical, Martial Industrial, Industrial Rock / Industrial Metal, Dark Ambient, Power Noise, Power Electronics, Rythmic Noise, TBM/IDM. Anything that falls within these categories will be applicable for review. If you think your music is something for us, but doesn't quite fit in, drop us an E-mail using the contact form below.

Complaints
We offer the highest standard of reviews. There has been occasions in the past where an artist, or label has taken direct offense to content on our site.Although we offer an independent and unbiased opinion at all times, there will be occasions when the recipient of an article may take offense for various reasons.

These include:
- Inaccuracy
- Disagreement with a Negative Review
- Translation (Three of our staff speak English as a second language, therefore from time to time a point may not be made to the readers liking. We support this language barrier at all times, but also work to help people understand the opinion at question)

Should you find yourself in the situation where you wish to raise an objection, please send an e-mail using the contact form below.

Donations
During the summer of 2010 we added a Paypal Donate button to our site. As it is, we are currently losing money from our private economy to run the site and even though we love to write reviews and keep this site running, we would like the help from you with the costs. All donations are welcome of any sum and everything of it will go to domain, server, promotion and other costs that Brutal Resonance might bring. Thank you.

Downloads
All the content in the download section have been submitted with an understanding between the artist/label and Brutal Resonance. All the content have been submitted to us from the label/artist and we do not host any of the downloads, simply link to them. We do host the sample mp3's, this for enhancing the user experience, of course this is done with the artist's/label's understanding, they even chose what song to be in the player. They are for free and legal to download. We do not take responsibility of the content of the download or that it is correct, even though we verify almost every link given to us. If you find anything strange or if something does not add up, report it to us.

Spotify
Spotify is a popular kind of music service that we have integrated our reviews with. We link the reviews where the release is available on Spotify for your simplicity, just click the link and listen to the album. To sign up for Spotify and more information about the service, please visit http://www.spotify.com

How to apply:
If you would like to join our team, then please take the following steps.

Or really want to offload a review because you feel it's a tough one to write about? Our unique Trade pool will allow you to get help from us!
o Other Staff only treats and exclusives.
